Why Not Just Follow The Ladies?: Obviously, investing in a club, which would essentially be a higher-priced set than most shows, is an added cost. But I don’t believe that just following a handful of dancers around is enough to stand out. That kind of approach is played out. Post-pandemic, people don’t want to go back to working for the man. Wish fulfillment has shifted from watching the Haves to wanting to see the Have Nots break free and make it on their own.
Similarly, Shark Tank rip-offs are easy but that’s why they’re so common and why their audiences are waning. It’s going to take a little bit more investment on the front end to get audiences to invest their time and emotions into the new generation of reality shows. Everyone’s seen the pitches and The Apprentice-style tryouts; I believe what people are interested in now is actually seeing what happens when the rubber actually meets the road.
